CHASING RAINBOWS
An Exhibition by Charlotte Colbert at
Battersea Power Station
___

Chasing Rainbows brings together two large-scale sculptural works by award-winning filmmaker and multimedia artist Charlotte Colbert. Presented in partnership with New Public, the installations form part of Battersea Power Station’s Spring/Summer 2025 campaign, Radiant Reflections, and are a featured project of London Craft Week. A coinciding pop-up shop offering a selection of special edition pieces designed by Charlotte will be open from the 9–18 of May. There will also be a customisation station (9-11 May and 17-18 May) where shoppers can adorn new season fashion and homeware purchases from the Power Station’s retailers with colourful Colbert-designed patches completely free-of-charge, walking away with something truly unique.

Chasing Rainbows explores themes of dreams, imagination, hope, and how a future of collective inclusivity might be imagined. Reflecting Colbert’s signature surreal and thought-provoking approach, the works draw on personal narrative, cultural ritual, and philosophical inquiry.

Located on the Ground Floor in Turbine Hall A inside Battersea Power Station, Dreamland Sirens is a dual-coloured eye sculpture supported by a column of tears, rendered in reflective stainless steel. The piece takes inspiration from Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland and considers the role of the imagination in shaping the structures of the world around us.

In Turbine Hall B, Where Angels Live features a polished steel tree adorned with votive objects. Drawing from Colbert’s experiences travelling in Mexico and her pilgrimage along the Camino de Santiago, the work offers a meditation on the healing power of belief and the beauty of shared ritual.

Both artworks are free to view and will remain on display until 1 June 2025.
